KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 12, 2010 – Customers of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) on Tuesday morning set another new all-time winter system peak demand record for electricity – the fifth in six days.
The record system peak of 334.8 megawatts (MW) was set at 7:17 a.m., eclipsing the previous record of 330.8 MW set Monday. The temperature at the time of this morning’s peak was 33 degrees. One megawatt powers approximately 750 homes.
KUA reported no outages overnight or this morning.
