KISSIMMEE, Fla., May 15, 2014 – Due to a drop in demand during evening hours, the Kissimmee Utility Authority will trim its call center hours, beginning Monday, June 9.
The new hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The previous schedule kept the call center open until 11 p.m., but detailed analysis by the utility of call traffic over the past year showed a decline in customer calls after 8 p.m.
Lobby hours will remain the same, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“This is part of our continued effort to look at our operating costs,” said Susan Postans, KUA’s vice president of customer service. “This change significantly reduces costs with minimal impact on customer service.”
Most customer service functions can now be handled 24 hours a day via the utility’s website, www.kua.com.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility powering 64,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla.
