
KISSIMMEE, Fla., May 28, 2008 – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has earned three awards in the 2008 Communicator Awards, an international awards program that honors excellence in print, audio/visual and interactive communication.
Entries are judged by communications professionals who look for companies and individuals whose work exceeds industry standards in both quality and achievement. More than 8,500 entries were received from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in this year’s competition.
KUA received two awards of distinction for its 2008 calendar of energy conservation. The 12-month wall calendar features student artwork themed around energy conservation in the home and workplace. More than 16,000 calendars were distributed free of charge this year.
The utility also received an award of distinction for its new community grill website, www.thebiggrill.com. The website provides area nonprofit groups with details on securing the utility’s free community grill for fundraising and special events. The website includes a grill calendar, downloadable forms and a photo gallery of past events.
KUA has earned 219 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, events and publications since 1995.
