KUA Wins Three International Communication Awards

KISSIMMEE, Fla., April 13, 6:00 p.m. – Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA), Florida’s sixth largest community-owned electric utility, has received three awards in the 2005 Communicator Awards.

The Communicator Awards is an international awards program that honors excellence in printed communications. Entries are judged by communications professionals who look for companies and individuals whose work meets a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for their respective industries. There were 5,078 entries received from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in this year’s competition.

A Crystal Award of Excellence was awarded to KUA for its 28-page energy conservation guide. Awards of Distinction were presented to the utility for its 2004 hurricane handbook and 2004 annual report.

Other notable winners this year included Amazon.com, The Boeing Company, Costco Wholesale, Mayo Clinic, Merrill Lynch, U.S. Postal Service and Wells Fargo.

KUA has earned 165 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, events and publications since 1995.

Founded in 1901, KUA provides electric, water and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
