KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 1, 2017 – Nearly 1,000 homes in Kissimmee were without power on New Year’s Day after a car struck a concrete utility pole.
The collision occurred along Pleasant Hill Road at 11:38 a.m., causing the pole to break in half. The outage left 938 customers without power.
Utility crews were able to restore service to 713 customers at 12:27 pm. The remaining 225 customers were restored at 1:20 p.m.
Crews continue work to replace the damaged pole and restring the electrical wire.
