KISSIMMEE , Fla., Nov. 27, 2006 – For hundreds of local students, their artwork isn’t hanging on mom’s fridge, it’s hanging up for everyone to see.
More than 1,600 entries received in Kissimmee Utility Authority’s annual student art contest are now on display in the utility’s headquarters. The artwork is themed around electrical safety in the home and workplace.
The entries were received from 28 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private and charter schools.|
A panel of judges selected twelve entries – one for each calendar month – that will be featured in KUA’s 2007 Calendar of Electrical Safety. The printed calendars will be distributed free of charge in late December.
The artwork will be on display until Dec. 22 at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee. Admission is free.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric, water and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
