Utility Releases 2013 Electrical Safety Calendar

KISSIMMEE, Fla., December 21, 2012 – Kissimmee Utility Authority has released its 2013 calendar of electrical safety, featuring the winning entries from its annual student art contest.

The calendars are available free of charge at KUA’s customer service center, located at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee.

Open to Osceola County students in kindergarten through fifth grade, the contest is designed to promote electrical safety and help prevent electrical accidents. This year, a total of 2,049 entries were received from 28 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private, charter and home schools.

This year’s winners are:

— Boggy Creek Elementary – Yasmine Salazar, grade 4
— City of Life Christian Academy – Jordan Green, grade 5; Elijah Kolenda, grade 2; Camryn Sanchez, grade 2
— Flora Ridge Elementary – Genesis Ardon, grade 3
— Freedomland Christian Academy – Omar E. Berrios, grade 5 (Grand Prize Winner)
— Harmony Community School – Melody Ferency, grade 3; Jacques Speyrer, grade 2
— Kissimmee Elementary – Andria Krause, grade 2; Amanda Tedrick, grade 4
— Lakeview Elementary – Michelle Rivera, grade 5
— Pleasant Hill Elementary – Jelena Randall, grade 4

KUA’s annual calendar project has received 52 local, state and national public relations and design awards since its inception in 1995.
