KISSIMMEE, Fla., February 18, 2014 – Kissimmee Utility Authority has released its 2014 calendar of energy conservation, featuring the winning entries from its annual student art contest.
The calendars are available free of charge while supplies last at KUA’s customer service center, located at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee.
Open to Osceola County students in kindergarten through fifth grade, the contest is designed to promote energy conservation among students and their families. This year, a total of 1,770 entries were received from 32 Osceola County elementary schools, including public, private and charter schools.
This year’s winners are:
— Boggy Creek Elementary – Kathlea Kim Corla, grade 5
— City of Life Christian Academy – Braydon Justice, grade 3; Garrett Puckett, grade 4
— Flora Ridge Elementary – Jadiel Burgos, kindergarten; Xavier Mendez, grade 5; Martin Zagbo, Jr., grade 3
— Holy Redeemer Catholic School – Brianna Annunziata, grade 5; Javier Castro, grade 4 (grand winner)
— Kissimmee Elementary – Andria Krause, grade 3
— Renaissance Charter School at Poinciana – Alanis Sierra, grade 5
— Thacker Avenue Elementary – Salma Ouaakki, grade 3
— Westside K-8 – Ailani Vega, grade 3
KUA’s annual calendar project has received 51 local, state and national public relations and design awards since its inception in 1995.
