Utility Reopens for Business After Hurricane Matthew

KISSIMMEE, Fla., October 7, 2016 – Kissimmee Utility Authority reopened its call center at 9 a.m. and customer service center at 11 a.m. Friday, after successfully restoring power to those affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Overnight, utility crews responded to several outages, including a downed power line in the Buenaventura Lakes area of Kissimmee, which left 2,336 customers without power. Crews also had to remove a tree that fell into power lines along Pleasant Hill Road, as well as several smaller outages sprinkled across KUA’s 85-square mile service territory.

As blustery weather continues throughout the day and evening, customers who experience a power outage are asked to call the utility’s 24-hour outage line at 407-933-9898. KUA’s real-time outage map can be viewed at https://goo.gl/BStSzO.
