KISSIMMEE, Fla., Dec. 19, 2018 – The Kissimmee City Commission on Tuesday appointed Jeanne Van Meter to a second five-year term on the Kissimmee Utility Authority board of directors.
Van Meter was originally appointed to the board in 2011 to complete an unfinished term, following the death of director Jim Kasper. In 2015, she was appointed by the commission to her first full term.
Van Meter is a 45-year resident of Kissimmee and a retired realtor. She is a former Kissimmee City Commissioner, and previously served on the boards of Valencia College, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida and the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Van Meter served as board chairman of Help Now of Osceola.
Van Meter will be sworn in at the utility’s October 2019 board meeting. Her new term will expire on Sept. 30, 2024.
