KISSIMMEE, Fla., Dec. 12, 2018 – Senior engineer Jeff Sizemore has been named Kissimmee Utility Authority’s 2018 employee of the year.

The award recognizes and rewards exemplary performance by a KUA employee based on both performance of their responsibilities as outlined in their job description and on their specific contributions to the mission, goals and values of the utility. With the honor comes a plaque, $200 cash, two days off with pay and a reserved parking space.

Hired by KUA in 1991, Sizemore was recognized for his dependability, strong work ethic and professionalism. In addition to his regular duties, Sizemore serves as a subject matter expert for city and county government with regard to power needs for Osceola County’s growing urban area. He also works with vendors to improve the quality and design of materials used in the construction of the utility’s electrical grid to ensure high reliability for customers.

Sizemore serves as the utility’s in-house expert on LED street lighting and led the effort to design and build a permanent memorial light to honor the lives and service of Kissimmee Police Department Sergeant Sam Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter, both of whom were tragically killed in the line of duty in 2017.

Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida’s sixth largest community-owned utility powering 76,000 customers in Osceola County, Fla. For more information, visit http://kua.com.
