KISSIMMEE, Fla., Oct. 9, 2018 – In anticipation of widespread power outages following Hurricane Michael, Kissimmee Utility Authority today sent crews and equipment to Tallahassee to assist with storm restoration.
KUA deployed 10 linemen and a convoy of vehicles and supplies to Florida’s capital city where they will stage safely overnight as the city of Tallahassee prepares for storm landfall on Wednesday.
Those who traveled from KUA include Nick Aviles, Karl Glass, Danny Kelly, Tony Nasco, Shane Paras, Willie Simmons, Paul Therriault, David Wolfe, Jason Wright and Shane Yarborough.
Hurricane Michael is expected to hit the Florida Panhandle as a powerful Category 3 storm.
KUA crews are no stranger to Tallahassee, having spent eight days in 2016 helping to rebuild its electric system following Hurricane Hermine.
