KISSIMMEE — For 10 years KUA has been bringing the community free movies, popcorn and family fun during the utility’s annual 6-month Movie in the Park series in partnership with the City of Kissimmee. The 2023-2024 movies season kicks off on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Veterans Lawn of Kissimmee Lakefront Park and continues on the first Friday of every month through March.
The event will feature “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” shown on a giant 50-foot screen. The movie will also feature closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
Attendees will enjoy KUA’s inflatable Kids Power Zone, craft station, photo booth, free popcorn, and prize giveaways. Onsite concessions will be available. Children participating in inflatable activities must be accompanied by an adult to sign a waiver. To sign the waiver ahead of time click here.
In celebration of KUA’s 10th anniversary of Movie in the Park, families will also have a photo opportunity with a giant light-up display celebrating 10 years of movies.
Attendees can also learn how to lower their monthly electric bills and can receive on-site energy audits by visiting the KUA Green Team at the utility’s new SunCatcher Solar Energy Trailer. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the movie at sunset. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
