TAMPA, FL— At their annual meeting in Tampa, members of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC) elected Brian Horton, KUA President and General Manager, as secretary/treasurer of the organization’s Board of Directors.
The FRCC is comprised of top-level executive members elected within six sectors and directed by a stakeholder Board of Directors. The council’s mission is to coordinate a safe, reliable, and secure bulk power system in Florida.
“I am honored to be a part of this council and look forward to ensuring the reliability and security of Florida’s bulk power system,” said Horton. “I am confident that our board will continue to take the necessary steps to strengthen grid resiliency and support the future growth of energy infrastructure across the state.”
Horton has been CEO of KUA since April 2019. He holds both a Master of Public Administration degree and bachelor’s degree in electric engineering from Florida State University is also a Certified Public Manager. Horton has 20+ years of engineering, operations and regulatory experience within the electric utility industry.
