KUA | Board

Each year, Kissimmee Utility Authority seeks individuals interested in appointment to the utility’s board of directors. Applicants for this seat must be qualified electors within KUA’s service territory, residing outside Kissimmee city limits. The charter of the utility requires that members “have demonstrated a successful business or professional management career.” The current outgoing Board member is not eligible for reappointment.

The five-member board sets policy direction for the utility. Specifically, the board approves annual budgets, sets rates, and approves major purchases. The board also directs a general manager who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the utility. The board holds regular business meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Workshop meetings, generally devoted to a single subject, are held on an as-needed basis. In addition, board members represent the utility in various local, regional, and national organizations.

The term of a director is five years, and an individual can serve two consecutive terms. Board positions are non-paid.

This form, along with a resume, must be completed and returned by April 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
